Mother Jeans was founded in 2010 by Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding. Having extensive denim backgrounds, they were determined to do it all differently. They chose the name Mother to express the ideal of duality – it can be nurturing or a cuss. It represents unconditional love and teenage rebellion all at the same time. The brand’s collections and attitude always present a contrasting comparison of hard and soft.

- Locally Produced: This denim brand is produced in Los Angeles and proudly partners with local businesses in the production of all denim styles.100% of its denim products are made within a 14-mile radius of the design studio. This level of production reduces the company’s carbon footprint by limiting freight transport and shipping.
- Upcycling: The 60% Mother collection has taken additional carbon-reducing steps by utilizing product overages, damages, and scraps that would otherwise go to a landfill. This collection will also be packaged in biodegradable bags. These bags can be reused, recycled, and biodegradable should they end up in a landfill.
